About This Kitten

So, you want to know about me, my story, my website, why and what this challenge is and what I’d like to offer.

Oh OK! So, it happened… Shit finally hit the ceiling last August when I had a mini stroke. This was un expected. My name is Summer. I was 44, my health was way too far from optimum and unfortunately, it’s my own doing.

I have recently suffered from two horrible bouts of  Covid19 and in September of last year, I was also diagnosed with hyper-cortisolism, hypo-thyroid and endometrial cancer. There! I said it.Not only I haven’t been able to keep my weight under control, but my blood tests have started to show something else… I was also borderline diabetic!

Well, the thyroid and insulin issues worked out on their own and thankfully without the use of nuclear medicine, the cancer got operated out of me. The post surgery pathology also declared me cancer free. Now, “The Journey” starts here.

Ok, I am quite embarrassed on two accounts here.

One, I have tried almost every diet on earth but I haven’t been able to stick to any for more than a week. To count a few I would say, the cabbage soup diet, Dr. Bernstein’s treatment, juicing, all vegan diet, the paleo diet, low-carb diet, Skinny Meany diet, low-fat protein diet and the list goes on. Everything works fine for a few days and then I get busier or lazier or a combination of both and I find myself not visiting the gym for 10 days at a stretch and have fallen off the diet wagon long ago.

This blog is the story of my struggle… I’m secretly calling it “Summer’s Battle Uphill” although I really do wanna be that Keto Kitten..

There’s that saying that goes, “if you keep doing the same thing over and over again, you cannot expect different results…” So this time I’m doing it differently. I’m starting to write this blog and appointing three people to be my accountability partners. If you are one of them, you know who you are. Right from now on, I’ll be making one small change in my life that I will carry forward and continue as long as I live hopefully.

I come from a lot of education and knowledge of holistic nutrition, alternative medicine, clinical detoxification and ketogenic diet. I know I should incorporate my own knowledge and education to my own life, but apathy is a real thing and I haven’t.

My intention is to lose 80 lbs by September 2023. On my website, I intend to share a few ketogenic recipes, plenty of info, some tips, meal plans and herbal knowledge and tidbits in general for good clean health..

The three changes I’m incorporating into life starting September 2022 are:

  1. To put aside a minimum of 30 minutes of my time every day to get a full body workout whether at home or outdoors.
  2. To follow closely a ketogenic diet, ditch the carbs and junk food.
  3. To journal my progress every day, log food and fitness into respective apps and write one blog post here per week. I’ll try to throw in some recipes here as well.

In the near future, I’d like to be able to invite others here and join me on my journey… Until then, it’s me, lonely here. So the journey begins! Get in touch with me if you’re walking my path too.
